Updated Timeline

With the final days drawing closer, here's an updated timeline. Luckily I have the main functionality of my conversational character AI completed, and from here it's mostly adding details and polish.


  • By Thurs. March 9th -

    • Clean up the animation transitions: implement blend trees in unity and remove conditional bool triggers to transition between facial expressions.

    • Thinking animation: Add in an animation to play while awaiting a response from OpenAI. Currently it only takes a couple seconds because of the short responses, but longer responses create a longer wait time. I need the animations to convey that he's still "thinking" during this time. Hopefully it makes the awkward silence less awkward.

    • "Prompt Engineering" - Test the extent of the ChatGPT prompting. See how detailed I can get my prompts to go, and how accurately I can get it to respond.


  • By Thurs. March 16th -

    • Fix the oculus TTS character limit. If I am so inclined.

    • Final Cleanup - Make the UI look prettier, add a background. Anything but that awful Unity default skybox.

    • Clean up textures, finish the unfinished parts like his hands and clothing details. Fix the iris textures.

    • Find more animations to cycle through. more idle animations, maybe a couple more facial expressions.
